Everton Team News and Predicted Lineup vs Leeds United As Grealish Update Given

How Everton Have Lined Up Recently

Everton have had some more time to recover between games at the moment as European games take up the midweek fixtures. They come off the back of a 1-0 victory against Aston Villa on January 18 at Villa Park. Despite Villa having a considerably larger percentage of the possession and more shots than the Toffees, Everton managed to get the break thanks to Thierno Barry just before the hour mark, after Jake O’Brien’s header into the bottom right corner of the net was ruled offside earlier in the match.

Jordan Pickford started in goal with Jake O’Brien, James Tarkowski, Nathan Patterson and Vitaliy Mykolenko playing at the back. Harrison Armstrong, James Garner, Merlin Röhl, Jack Grealish and Dwight McNeil took the midfield with Thierno Barry finishing the lineup up front.

Everton Recent Form And Tactics

The Toffees have managed to keep an impressive away form over the past year, winning 10 away games since 25 January 2025, the most in the Premier League, joint with Arsenal. However, their home form hasn’t been filled with as much success, with just as many defeats as there have been wins.

Everton continue to look like they struggle to create chances and win games convincingly. With the return of some crucial players, the Toffees will hope to look more dominant on the pitch. Of course, Leeds United will bring along ex-Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin who has proved himself as a pivotal player in the Leeds lineup, Everton will need to ensure they keep his chances few and far between.

Injuries and Suspensions

The big news this week is that Jack Grealish will be sidelined for some time following a stress-fracture in his foot, although Moyes didn’t reveal the length of time he will be out for. Moyes said: “It’s a big blow because he’s been hugely important to us. We’ve had a few injuries but this is a big blow for us.”

Meanwhile Seamus Coleman has returned to the squad after appearing on the bench in Everton’s last fixture. Jarrad Branthwaite, Charly Alcaraz and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall have returned to training and are getting closer to making their much-anticipated returns to the pitch.
