Team News, Form and Predicted Line-Up as Oxford United Welcome Preston

Oxford United will be looking to turn their recent run of draws into a win on Saturday when the U’s welcome Preston.

Gary Rowett’s side have picked up points against Middlesbrough, Norwich and, most recently, Blackburn but need to turn those draws into victories if they are to move up the table.

Team News, Form and Predicted Line-Up

The U’s have beaten Ipswich in their last five games but also lost at Swansea, showing how inconsistent they can be.

As for Preston, they managed a point at home against league leaders Coventry on Tuesday night, despite playing most of the game with ten men. The Lilywhites are unbeaten in four and have lost just once in their last nine. North End are also unbeaten in their last six away games since defeat at Portsmouth back in August and have lost just twice on the road all season.

Oxford are still without Matt Phillips, Brodie Spencer, skipper Cameron Brannagan and Przemyslaw Placheta.

Preston are without Robbie Brady, Lewis Gibson, Jamal Lewis and Ali McCann through injury, while Milutin Osmajic and Liam Lindsay are both suspended.

Oxford were unbeaten against North End last season, drawing at Deepdale after winning this fixture 3-1.

Gary Rowett has a fantastic record against Preston. In 15 games, he’s picked up eight wins and seven draws so is yet to face defeat against the Lancashire side. However, in nine meetings against Paul Heckingbottom, he has lost four and drawn twice.
