Wolves Predicted Lineup vs Nottingham Forest For December 3

As Wolves gear up to take on Nottingham Forest, the Molineux faithful will be hoping that Wolves can carry the performance from last time out and finally break this losing streak and deliver a performance worthy of the fans’ loyal support. Under new boss Rob Edwards, there have been glimpses of renewed intensity and organisation, but he still hasn’t managed to add any points to the meagre total. With Forest also struggling, this might be the fixture where the West Midlands outfit can get their season going. Here is our Wolves predicted lineup.

How Wolves Have Lined Up Recently

Since his appointment, Edwards has opted for a back five formation, which has given him a more organised and cautious defence than his predecessor, Vítor Pereira, who left Wolves with the third-highest number of goals conceded in Europe’s top five leagues.

Last time out in the 1-0 loss to Aston Villa, Sam Johnstone retained his place between the sticks. The back five was made up of David Møller Wolfe, Toti Gomes, Yerson Mosquera, Emmanuel Agbadou, and Jackson Tchatchoua. The midfield three were Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, João Gomes, and André. The forward pairing consisted of Jørgen Strand Larsen and Jhon Arias.

Wolves Recent Form And Tactics

Another week and another loss for Wolves, which is becoming a worrying trend with the club now 10 points adrift of safety, and currently recording one of the worst starts to a season in Premier League history. Of the 12 teams with the worst starts to a season after 13 games, only one has ever survived relegation.

The back five structure is designed to shore up a defence that has looked so vulnerable over the past two seasons. Edwards said himself after the Villa game: “Carry on performing like that and points will come”

Tactically, the plan is to use the back five to reduce the goal threat, while relying on midfield cohesion and quick transitions while in possession, sacrificing some attacking width for structure and discipline. This, however, has brought its own problems, as no goals were scored in November.

Injuries To Consider

The manager said during the press conference that Ladislav Krejčí is unavailable for this game, and Matt Doherty, who has been recovering from wrist surgery, has been in training this week so that he may be available for selection.
