Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest Confirmed Lineups for October 18

These are the Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest confirmed lineups for the early Saturday slot. We return to league action after the international break which may have stunted the Blues’ growing momentum following their wins over Benfica and Liverpool. In a positive note, they had a lot of players stay at Cobham to rest or only play limited minutes while on international duty, which could prove to be a long-term positive. Can Ange Postecoglou finally turn the tide in his new job or will his high line be exploited by a tactical master?

Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest Confirmed Lineups for Premier League Tie

Chelsea Team News

Rob Sanchez starts in goal with a Back line of Malo Gusto, Josh Acheampong, Trevoh Chalobah, and Marc Cucurella. There is an interesting midfield with Reece James and Romeo Lavia in the pivot. Pedro Neto and Alejandro Garnacho are out wide with Andrey Santos behind the striker Joao Pedro

Notable Changes

A completely unexpected eleven with a brand new midfield, rare Santos at the number ten minutes and a start for Acheampong with Chalobah. The only question mark will be whether it is James or Gusto as the midfielder with the Englishman the most likely option there.

Nottingham Forest Team News

Matz Sels starts with a back line of Neco Williams, Murillo, Milenkovic, Oleksandr Zinchenko, and Morato as a three with wing-backs. Elliott Anderson is in midfield with Douglas Luiz and Ibrahim Sangare as Morgan Gibbs-White sets up with Taiyo Awoniyi up front.

Notable Changes

Might be a change from a 3-4-3 to a 3-5-2 or 3-5-1-1 allowing Gibbs-White to keep a central position. The midfield trio is quite defensive which could match the Blues’ midfield but will leave a lot of work for the wing-backs and Awoniyi up front.

Stay tuned for the Chelsea vs Nottingham Forest confirmed lineups. There will be news as well as discussions on who started, who missed out, and what tactical changes we could see from either manager.
