Cristian Romero Set to Stay

Despite winning their first major trophy since 2008, Frank will be eager to improve things at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, especially their Premier League form, which was dire last season. These new signings will give the new manager some different options, but despite the club’s troubles, there are some talented players on the side, including Argentine international Cristian Romero, who missed chunks of last season due to injury. Fellow Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven previously made it clear how important Romero is to the team, describing the World Cup winner as an “unbelievable player.

Despite being linked with a move to La Liga, Romero now appears committed to Spurs under new manager Thomas Frank, with the Spurs’ boss confirming this: “He’s definitely here and very committed”. “I know he’s looking forward to the season”.

Romero’s Qualities

Cristian Romero has won trophies at the highest level, winning the Copa America and the FIFA World Cup. Frank will be hoping to get the Argentine defender 100% for the coming season, and he will feel like a new signing.

He’s not afraid of the physical side of the game and is strong in the air and on the deck. He reads the game well and often steps out to intercept passes and make crucial tackles. Romero is a threat from attacking set pieces and excellent at defending set pieces, which will be vital for Thomas Frank. The new signings will definitely give the Spurs fans a lift, but Romero’s staying will be vital for all connected with the club.
