Chelsea have been very active in the summer transfer window so far, alongside competing in the Club World Cup (which they are now in the final of, to be played on July 13). However, with an already large squad, this means that they need to make some sales to negate the incoming players. Chelsea could be set to sell Nicolas Jackson; a transfer may be on the cards for the striker to a fellow Premier League club.
Chelsea May Sell Nicolas Jackson: Transfer Could Bring ‘New Chapter’ in Premier League
Asking Price ‘Too High’ for AC Milan
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Jackson “has chances” to leave Stamford Bridge in this transfer window. The Blues look set to sell Noni Madueke to Arsenal for over £50 million, and now their striker could be the next asset to move on and “try [a] new chapter elsewhere”. Whilst he has had some success in West London, it is clear that he won’t be the bagsman to unlock league titles for them.

Reportedly, AC Milan were interested and inquired about a deal, but Chelsea’s asking price was “too high”. However, other options include staying in England, as “Premier League clubs are also keen and informed”. This may entail a move to a club slightly lower down the league table, though this could be ideal. Jackson may thrive in a system in which he is the star; he was actually set to join Bournemouth in 2023 before a failed medical thwarted proceedings.
Is There Space for Nicolas Jackson at Chelsea?
This news may come as little surprise to fans, after the acquisitions of both João Pedro and Liam Delap already in this window. The duo cost a combined ~£85 million, and they will need as many minutes as possible to hit the ground running under Enzo Maresca. Pedro has arguably proven himself more than Jackson in England, thriving for Brighton and Hove Albion (and already netting two in two for his new club), whilst Delap netted 12 goals last season for a poor Ipswich Town side at just 22-years-old.

Both currently and for the future, Jackson appears to be the third-choice for Chelsea. For the club and also his own career, it seems best that the Senegalese international finds a new club. If the right mid-table English team picks him up, he could well reach new heights.
