The report from the Telegraph confirms that Newcastle are set to open formal talks with Brighton over the signing of Brazilian attacker Joao Pedro. Telegraph Sport had previously revealed the club were prepared to step up their interest since missing out on Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo.
According to the latest report, Newcastle value the Brazilian at £60 million. While there is still some work needed before a deal is completed, confidence is growing that an agreement can be reached.

Brighton have recently added Greek youngster Charalampos Kostoulas, which could help Newcastle in their pursuit. The Geordies will need to act quickly with other Premier League teams interested, such as Chelsea. Eddie Howe is also said to be a huge fan of Pedro and was close to signing the Brazilian before Newcastle signed Alexander Isak in a club-record £63 million deal.
