Brighton Loan Report: Multiple Players Shine In Top Leagues

Brighton has a lot of talented young players. Not all of these players are ready/have the experience to start for the first team, with it being very competitive. Here on loan, these players have the chance to prove themselves to their parent club and make an impression at a normally lower level. Here is Brighton’s loan report for this week, with one shining against a top Premier League team and a young South American taking Ligue 1 by storm.

Brighton Loan Report: Former Starter Carries On To Impress In Premier League

Julio Enciso

A bright spark in a disappointing 4-0 defeat to Arsenal. Enciso was a good hand in the Ipswich team. He drove forward when he could, and took the ball past players but had a lack of options and a number of red shirts in his way. He was subbed off at halftime after Ipswich’s game plan was compromised due to a red card. They did not look the same without him.

Facundo Buonanotte

He was brought off the bench with 30 minutes left as Leicester looked to hold onto a 0-0 draw against league leaders Liverpool. He had two shots late in the game which did not trouble Alisson, but could not help the inevitable relegation to the Championship for Leicester to happen.

Valentin Barco

Barco continued his good form after helping Strasbourg keep a clean sheet in a 0-0 draw away to Monaco. The result has kept them in seventh, level on points with Nice and Lyon who occupy the European positions above them. Liam Rosenior has helped Barco find his form in midfield despite his reputation as a left-back. He is making up for a disappointing spell at Brighton.

Abdallah Sima

After scoring in two consecutive games, Sima failed to find the target for Brest in a 3-1 home loss to Lens. He missed a big chance in the first half and was hooked at halftime. This goes against his recent impressive performances which would have caught the eyes of the Brighton staff back in the UK.

Evan Ferguson

The Irish striker has yet to hit the ground running in East London, and only managed to get four minutes against Southampton, coming on as a sub for Jarrod Bowen. He has failed to push on from his first start of the season a few weeks ago against Wolves.

Jeremy Sarmiento

The Ecuadorian featured as a substitute in Burnley’s 2-1 win over Sheffield United. He was a part of the squad who celebrated a return to Premier League action. He failed to make an impact when coming off the bench.

Ibrahim Osman

The 20-year-old winger made an appearance off the bench in Feyenoord’s 2-0 win over Fortuna Sittard. He looked lively when he came on and helped see out an important away win. The Ghanaian has reached 20 appearances for the Dutch outfit this season.

Malick Yalcouye

It had been a mixed week for the 19-year-old midfielder. He started in both Sturm Graz fixtures. He helped his team win 2-0 over BW Linz the previous week. In the following game, they lost 2-1 to the hands of Austria Wien in a top-of-the-table clash. He will miss the repeat fixture against Austria Wien due to him picking up a fifth yellow card.

Kjell Schepern

Along with Yalcouye, he was in the Sturm Graz team which was defeated last week. He managed to make six saves in the process, while also keeping a clean sheet the game beforehand. This has raised his total to seven in all competitions.

Odelugo Offiah

The right-back helped Blackpool defeat a tough to score against Stevenage team 3-1 away from home, before narrowly losing out against Wrexham. He played all but 10 minutes in those two games.

Who Didn’t Feature?

Stefanos Tzimas and Amario Cozier-Dubbey missed out through injury for FC Nurnberg and Blackburn Rovers respectively. These players could not feature on the Brighton loan report.
