How Much Must Arsenal Pay For Zubimendi Transfer?

Romano has also stated that positive talks have taken place between the Gunners and the Spanish midfielder’s representatives and that negotiations are underway to get him to fully agree on the deal. It’s also stated that Arsenal are also ready to activate his release clause of £50.5 million and sign him for a prominent figure in the summer window.

This comes after the London heavyweights had also signed midfielder Mikel Merino from Real Sociedad last summer and they are looking to poach another midfielder from the club to strengthen their squad for the 2025/26 season.

What Can Arsenal Expect To Get In Zubimendi?

The 25-year-old midfielder is now a seasoned Spain international and was part of their squad that won the Euro 2024 title. He was also involved in a well-documented transfer saga with Liverpool in the 2024 summer window, but he opted to reject a move to the Merseyside giants and stay at Real Sociedad instead. It now looks like he’s finally ready for a move to the Premier League with Mikel Arteta’s side.

Zubimendi is naturally a defensive midfielder, but can also play as a no.8 if needed. The Spaniard has made 18 appearances in La Liga this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists for his team. The 25-year-old, who has been hailed as a “fantastic” talent by Spain manager Luis de la Fuente, is being eyed by Arsenal to add more depth to their no.6 position with both Jorginho and Thomas Partey’s contracts set to expire at the end of June.
