Chelsea Team News

Robert Sanchez starts in goal behind a line of Marc Cucurella, Levi Colwill, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Malo Gusto. Moises Caicedo partners Enzo Fernadez in the centre of the park behind the trio of Pedro Neto, Cole Palmer, and Jadon Sancho. Nicolas Jackson leads the line as the striker.

Marcus Bettinelli makes the bench alongside Filip Jorgensen, two goalkeepers indicates a lack of adequate availability elsewhere. Axel Disasi, Josh Acheampong, Cesare Casadei, Tyrique George, Joao Felix, Christopher Nkunku, and Marc Guiu round out the substitutes.

Notable Changes

The starting eleven remained mostly unchanged which is an interesting move from Enzo Maresca who usually rotates. The only move was bringing back the previously suspended Cucurella to restore the full strength eleven. After a season full of mixing and matching, there’s some stability in the league without any European distractions.

The big worry is the absentees on the bench with no Benoit Badiashile, no Noni Madueke, no Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, no Romeo Lavia, no Renato Veiga, and still no sign of Reece James. The once-deep squad is now looking a little thin with academy players Achampong and George making the bench.
