The journalist also states that the Reds’ coaching staff are expected to manage their game time properly to ensure that they don’t reaggravate their injury issues anytime soon. It’s also claimed that summer signing Federico Chiesa, who has suffered with injury troubles since joining from Juventus, is still not training with the squad as he’s currently recovering from an illness. Chiesa has only been restricted to three appearances for Liverpool in the 2024/25 campaign as he struggles to properly adapt to Premier League football.

How Can Alisson And Jota Be Reintegrated Into Liverpool Team?

The Reds have missed both Alisson and Jota for a lengthy period of time as the two first-team stars have struggled with injury troubles. The Brazilian goalkeeper has been restricted to only eight appearances for Slot’s team so far this season, having missed their last 11 matches after sustaining a hamstring injury in Liverpool’s win over Crystal Palace in October.

The Portuguese forward has also ended up missing 12 games for Liverpool because of the injury he sustained in their 2-1 win over Chelsea earlier in the term. Jota started the campaign really well under Slot, scoring four goals and providing two assists in 10 appearances, while Alisson kept five clean sheets in eight appearances.

Both of them, however, will slowly be integrated into the team because of the competitiveness in the squad. Alisson could return in the upcoming game against Girona, and will have to perform at a high level to keep Caoimhin Kelleher on the bench. Jota, who has been a bit injury-prone in recent years, might be slowly phased back into the team and play the next few games as a substitute for him to prove his fitness and also earn a starting role.
