Chelsea's Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku celebrate goal

Chelsea Confirmed Lineup vs Southampton for December 4

This is the Chelsea confirmed lineup for their Premier League clash with Southampton. December is a busy month across the competition so rotation and fitness will be on the minds of most managers when deciding on lineups. With the Blues on a good run of form this is an important match to get right for Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea Confirmed Lineup vs Southampton in Premier League Clash

Chelsea Team News

Starters: Jorgensen, Gusto, Disasi, Tosin, Cucurella, Caicedo, Fernandez, Madueke, Palmer, Felix, Nkunku

Bench: Sanchez, Badiashile, Colwill, Veiga, Dewsbury-Hall, Lavia, Neto, Sancho, Jackson

Notable Changes

In an unexpected move Maresca has changed almost the entire starting eleven with changes across the front and back line. The real eyebrow raiser comes in goal where Jorgensen is getting his Premier League debut following two good performances from Sanchez.

This attacking unit will be a fun one to see as Nkunku, Palmer, and Felix can really cramp the area in and around the box with their triple threat of abilities. This should allow the Blues to pen their opponents back and assume control while the physicality of Tosin and Disasi helps recycle possession.

Gusto’s return to the lineup will be interesting as he will be expected to play much the same role as Cucurella by helping win the ball back high but he hasn’t fit into that spot recently.

The absence of Mykahilo Mudryk from the squad will seem harsh following his solid run of form but he might be injured or rested for the upcoming stretch, with his abilities allowing him to flourish in Europe in the Conference League.
