Advanced Talks Between the Clubs
Daily Telegraph reporter Mike McGrath was one of the first to break the news in England, stating that Bournemouth are close to agreeing a fee with Barcelona for Araujo. This was then seconded by Fabrizio Romano, who added further information to the story. He announced that Bournemouth are in “advanced talks” with the Spanish giants.

A fee of around €10 million was suggested by Romano, further adding that Barcelona are also asking for a sell-on clause, but the negotiations are still ongoing. Barcelona have been primarily focused on incomings, with the signing of Dani Olmo set to be confirmed in the near future.
What Can Julian Araujo Bring to Bournemouth?
Araujo, who spent last season on loan with fellow LaLiga side UD Las Palmas, will bring youth and exuberance to bolster Andoni Iraola’s depth at right back.
The California-born talent, who turns 23 next week, posted strong numbers while on his temporary spell in 2023/24. He stood out with his 83% pass accuracy and 64% duals won. The latter metric was one that Araujo sat in the top 4% of fellow La Liga right-backs.

If the “rising star” is to arrive on the South Coast, it will be two incomings in a short space of time, after fellow young defender Dean Huijsen arrived last week.
This story is set to develop in the coming days, as Bournemouth will want to get the former LA Galaxy academy player through the door prior to the commencement of the Premier League season in just over a week.
