Fabrizio Romano has revealed the latest news around Jadon Sancho’s future in this transfer saga. It looks like a move away from Old Trafford may well be on the horizon for the 24-year-old.
Transfer Pending for Jadon Sancho as ‘More Clubs Keen’
The Update
Romano revealed on June 10 that “Manchester United believe there could be more clubs keen on signing Jadon Sancho, not only Borussia Dortmund”. This comes after a successful six-month loan at his former club.
The Italian journalist hinted that this interest could be from leagues that are not the Bundesliga nor the Premier League.

He continued to confirm that United’s price tag is £40 million as reported earlier.
The Story So Far
On June 9, it was also revealed that the hierarchy are “100% decided” on transferring Sancho out this summer. This will be “regardless of who is the manager” as the club continues to decide whether Erik ten Hag will remain in charge of the Red Devils.
This is interesting as whilst there was a falling out, it seems that the manager is not the driving force in this desire to sell. Ten Hag explained that “he represents a high value for the club” and that “we’ll see what is going to happen in the future” just last month.
Three Ideal Clubs for Jadon Sancho’s Summer Transfer
The ideal club to join would be Borussia Dortmund. This is the club where he first broke through, scoring an impressive 50 goals. Importantly, Sancho immediately hit the ground running in his return this winter – grabbing an assist in his first game. Generally, the winger has played with much more freedom and threat.

Importantly, despite £40 million being relatively high, it would make financial sense as Dortmund sold the winger for £73 million in 2021.
Another club on the continent that Sancho could thrive at is Atletico Madrid. His technical ability would suit the Spanish league, and playing in a system with wide midfielders rather than wingers could enable him to progress the ball well.
A club that the 24-year-old would suit is West Ham United. He would certainly shine alongside creative players like Mohammed Kudus and Lucas Paqueta. With Jarrod Bowen potentially playing as the 9 next season, there is an extra spot out wide.
The Hammers have the funds: they are set to spend €30 million on Luis Guilherme. However, this signing of another winger probably rules out a move to London.
