An Impressive Debut Season

Barcola developed into one of Ligue 1’s most promising wingers after making his senior debut for Lyon in 2021. The French youngster attracted interest from several elite sides, including Chelsea. However, it was PSG, who finalised a £39 million move to add him to their ranks last summer.

Arriving after the departures of Lionel Messi and Neymar, Barcola moved to the left-hand side of PSG’s attacking line. Since then, he has exceeded all expectations, establishing himself as a key forward under Luis Enrique.

However, the 21-year-old might not be available in a string of key matches after the international break.

Barcola Awaits Scan on Hamstring Injury

The PSG star limped off the pitch in the 25th minute of France U23’s friendly match against Ivory Coast on March 22. He was then allowed to return to Paris for further examination.

According to L’Equipe, Barcola is expected to miss PSG’s league match against Marseille on March 31 and their Coupe de France clash against Rennes three days later. The club await more scan results, hoping to have their “decisive” star back by the time they host Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-finals on April 10.

PSG Injury List

In addition to Barcola, four other senior stars are out with injuries at Parc des Princes. Long-term absentees Milan Skriniar and Presnel Kimpembe have continued to work individually in recent weeks, with no signs of imminent return.
