‘Ineos Requested’: Man Utd Make Late Change To Transfer Terms Of ‘Phenomenal’ Star

Erik ten Hag at the City Ground - Onana and Amrabat set for AFCON trip

Manchester United have been quiet in terms of signing new players since it was formally announced that Sir Jim Ratcliffe had agreed to acquire 25% of the ownership stake at the club and currently seem more focused on trimming their squad. It now looks like they are ready to offload midfielder Hannibal Mejbri as part of that downsizing.

He now adds that Hannibal is on his way to Sevilla to undergo his medical tests before being able to officially sign for them. It is stated that the La Liga club can opt to sign him on a permanent basis for a fee of around £17.1 million if they want to. However, the journalist claims Ineos made a slight late change to certain terms of the deal.

Romano claims that “Ineos requested” for a buy-back clause to be inserted into the deal for them to approve this transfer. That means Ratcliffe’s entourage want to ensure that if Hannibal is sold permanently, United will have the power to re-sign him in the future if he achieves his utmost potential.

Man Utd Focused On Exits In January Window

The Red Devils have not made any signings in the January window because it appears that they are more interested in offloading players that aren’t deemed vital to Erik ten Hag’s plans. They already sent Jadon Sancho back to Borussia Dortmund on a six-month loan deal, while it has been reported that young left-back Alvaro Fernandez is close to joining Benfica permanently.

Now, it looks like United are ready to let Hannibal, who was hailed as “phenomenal” during his loan spell at Birmingham City, work on developing his skills in La Liga. Mejbri made five appearances in the Premier League for the team this season, scoring one goal and seems poised for a new experience in his career very soon.
