The journalist who works for Sky Sports Germany linked Liverpool to Bundesliga forward Maximilian Beier. At the young age of 21 years, the Hoffenheim academy product has been in fine form this season. His six goals and four assists for the outfit have led Die Kraichgauer to challenge the league’s best for a spot in European football next year.

Plettenberg stated that the Reds were “interested” in Beier. Without naming others, the German also noted that other clubs in England had “inquired about him and are informed about contractual details.” The youngster has a release clause in the summer of 2024 that would cost Liverpool nearly £26 million to purchase him.

Praise for Beier

Beier made his Bundesliga debut three years ago as a teenager. An extended loan deal to Hannover 96 saw the young attacking player bag double-digit goals and earn him a spot on Hoffenheim’s first-team roster. This year, his big break has come and he is taking full advantage of his time out on the pitch.

Liverpool, however, are not the only party impressed with Beier. He has been labeled a “prodigy” due to his impactful performances at such a young age. What is certain, though, is that this potential future forward for the German national team will leave next summer.
