How Bayern Munich Have Lined Up Recently

Last time out against FC Copenhagen, the Bavarians started with a makeshift side. It was Manuel Neuer in goal, while Konrad Laimer and Alphonso Davies played in the outside back positions.

Leon Goretzka started as centre-back alongside Dayot Upamecano. Meanwhile, Raphael Guerreiro made his first start for the club as holding midfielder next to Joshua Kimmich. Finally, Mathys Tel, Thomas Müller, Kingsley Coman, and Harry Kane made up the front four.

Bayern Munich Recent Form and Tactics

The match against Copenhagen was a week and a half ago. It remains to be seen, whether the squad will benefit from that break, or if a bit of rustiness may have settled in. That most recent game, which finished with a scoreless draw, ended a four-game winning streak in all competitions for the team.

Both the unexpected break and the stalemate against the Danish champions should make the Bayern players and coaching staff eager to get back into a winning rhythm. The 4-2-3-1 will almost certainly remain the formation of choice for them.

Bayern Munich Injuries to Consider

Most of the players who were either ill or injured have recovered by now. Even Jamal Musiala, who has spent nearly a month out through injury, is now ready to return. Albeit not for the full 90 minutes against Frankfurt. From that point of view, the postponement of the Union game may well have been a blessing in disguise. The only Bayern players, who are now injured are Matthijs de Ligt and Bouna Sarr. The latter suffered an ACL injury in training a week ago.
