After taking home the award in his first month as a Premier League manager in August, Postecoglou has also been awarded the September Manager of the Month Award for the 2023/2024 season. This month’s prize comes – on the back of a list of seemingly difficult fixtures for the Lilywhites.

Tottenham’s impressive form has included a trip to Turf Moor to face last season’s Championship winners Burnley – which saw Spurs fall behind after just four minutes. However, thanks to a hattrick from club captain Son, they came home with all 3 points, following an impressive 5-2 victory. They followed this up with a come-from-behind win against Sheffield United. Then came a trip to the Emirates, a venue that Spurs hadn’t won at since the days of Harry Redknapp and a home tie against Liverpool.

In the North London Derby, Spurs were able to leave with their heads held high after a gritty and well-deserved point on the road. In the final game of the month – they were somewhat fortunate in their controversial win over Liverpool. It was a match that saw the Reds have two players sent off and were denied a clear goal due to VAR confusion. Spurs won the game due to a Joel Matip last-minute own goal.

In winning the award in back-to-back months, Postecoglou becomes the first manager to ever win the award in his first two months of Premier League management.

Son Heung-min Collects Fourth PL Player of the Month Award

Son started all four of their September fixtures in the centre-forward position, and it has worked wonders, with him scoring key goals. The South Korean international became the first Spurs player since John Hendry to score two goals away at Arsenal. He continued his impressive month with a well-taken goal from close range at home to Liverpool. With these exploits, he was the highest-scoring player in the month.

Postecoglou has Spurs flying high at the moment, and with Son leading the line, it looks set to be a memorable season for Tottenham.
