Manchester United were incredibly active on transfer deadline day, securing the signings of four players. Now, Sofyan Amrabat – the most exciting of United’s last-minute additions – has been pictured in their kit for the first time since his move to Old Trafford.

Sofyan Amrabat: A Vital Signing for United
Amrabat joins a team crying out for a more solid midfield.
It has been painfully obvious to fans of the Red Devils throughout their first three games of the Premier League season just how much they need more grit in their midfield. Opposition players have been much too easily able to move straight past whomever Erik ten Hag has lined up in the middle of the park this campaign, allowing for an easy and rapid transition from defence to attack.
It appeared before his injury that Mason Mount was Ten Hag’s preferred choice to join Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro in the first-choice midfield trio, but with the Englishman sidelined for a few weeks, Christian Eriksen stepped in as cover against Nottingham Forest. This still left United open and easy to play through, and it was clear that Ten Hag would need to employ an altered tactic if he wants to achieve success this season.
Enter, Sofyan Amrabat.
The Moroccan international provides what many will see as an upgrade on Scott McTominay, playing a similar role in assisting Casemiro defensively while also playing an important part in the Red Devils’ buildup play. His performances in the 2022 World Cup caught global attention, and journalist Carlo Garganese called him a “monster” because of his tenacious and hard-working displays.
If he is able to efficiently adapt to life in the Premier League, Amrabat’s move to United could prove a season-defining one for them.
