Journalist Reveals Huge Update Out of Tottenham Following Deadline Day Negotiations Over ‘Invaluable’ Player with UCL Club

‘I Was Told’: Fabrizio Romano Drops Update on Tottenham’s Feeling on ‘Amazing’ Summer Signing - James Maddison

Tottenham Hotspur are having a busy transfer deadline day – but it appears that they are not finding it easy to offload midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg after he fell well below the pecking order under new manager Ange Postecoglou.

Tottenham Set To Keep Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg

Atletico Madrid Late Bid Not Enough For Hojbjerg

The Telegraph’s Jason Burt has claimed that Atletico Madrid have made a bid to sign Hojbjerg on loan for the rest of the season. He mentions that this comes after the Spanish side had an offer accepted earlier this window to sign the Danish midfielder permanently – but saw that fall through after failing to agree personal terms with him.

However, Burt reiterates that the current offer from the La Liga side, which does not have an obligation clause to buy him permanently in 2024, is not being taken seriously by the Lilywhites. He further adds that “as things stand”, it looks likely that the 28-year-old will remain at Spurs after transfer talks over a move to Fulham also collapsed.

Burt claims that the situation around his future could change quickly as the transfer window winds down, even though he appears set to stay with the Lilywhites.

What Else Are Tottenham Working On?

Tottenham appear to be working hard to get some transfer business done to improve Postecoglou’s squad before the end of the summer window, as reports suggest Spurs have struck an agreement with Nottingham Forest to sign their promising forward Brennan Johnson.

They are also reported to be holding talks with Chelsea over a move for Conor Gallagher and have also loaned out left-back Sergio Reguilon to Manchester United on deadline. The future of Hojbjerg looks bleak at Spurs as he struggles to get a move. The 28-year-old hailed as “invaluable” last year, made 35 appearances in the Premier League for Spurs last season, but has since lost his regular role under Postecoglou.
