Done Deal: Nottingham Forest Have Now Completed Another Deadline Day Deal

City Ground-Nottingham Forest

In an effort to ensure that the club is not sitting near the relegation zone at the end of the season, Nottingham Forest have completed a signing that can strengthen their play on the attacking end of the pitch. The club have officially announced a deal to sign Callum Hudson-Odoi from Chelsea with Sky Sports providing some further details.

Nottingham Forest Complete Callum Hudson-Odoi Transfer

Fee Reported and Move Official

Sky Sports reported that Forest will send the Blues £8 million for the Englishman’s services. Hudson-Odoi joins them at 22 years of age and with plenty of room left for him to grow. Formerly a regular at Stamford Bridge, it was clear he was not in Mauricio Pochettino’s future plans for the club after failing to feature at all under the new manager.

Other signing details confirmed by Forest include the length of the deal. The Englishman will join on a three-year deal. A Chelsea youth academy product, the youngster won multiple trophies during his developmental years and previously represented England at various youth levels in international competitions.

Why Forest Needed Hudson-Odoi

The Trick Trees have been involved in some very tight, and some must say, very unlucky results so far this campaign. One-goal losses to Arsenal and Manchester United in the Premier League leave the club 14th in the table on three points. Their only win came after a nervy outing against Sheffield United that required a late goal to secure victory. Hudson-Odoi is being brought on to create the missing goals.

He did not score a league goal last season on loan to Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen. He is, though, as proved during his early years with Chelsea, capable of creating plays. Steve Cooper will hope to get the best out of the 22-year-old, who joins his new club with heavy expectations put on him that he will help keep them in the English top flight another year.
