‘He’s Not Training’: Man Utd Get Potential Boost as ‘Extraordinary’ Star Waiting for Move Before Deadline Day

Manchester United appear to be nearing a busy end to the 2023 summer transfer window and have received a promising update on the current position of one of their midfield targets in the form of Fiorentina star, Sofyan Amrabat.

What United Need to Make Sofyan Amrabat Transfer

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that with a few days remaining until the end of the summer window, Amrabat is still hoping for a move to Old Trafford and that he “wants to wait for Manchester United until the end of the window”.

He further adds that the Moroccan midfielder is “not training with Fiorentina” because he is waiting for a possible transfer before the window ends. Romano states that we have to “see if Man Utd bid” for him and that the deal will hinge on what happens with the future of Scott McTominay or Donny van de Beek. He claims that they “need to offload or sell players” to sanction the move for a new midfielder like Amrabat.

Romano adds that with Fred’s sale to Fenerbahce done, “one more (exit) is needed” before the Red Devils can officially make a move for the midfielder. So all the Fiorentina man can do for now is just sit, wait and hope that the Premier League side can offload another midfielder to open up the space in their squad for his arrival.

What Else Are United Working On?

The Red Devils are also claimed to be in the market to sign a new left-back after being dealt a blow with Luke Shaw’s new injury ruling him out for months. United are rumoured to be aiming to sign Chelsea defender Marc Cucurella to fix their issues in the full-back position and they seem to focusing on that deal for the time being.

When it comes to Amrabat, who was hailed as “extraordinary” for his heroics at the 2022 Qatar World Cup, it looks like that deal could spark up once the Premier League giants are able to offload a midfielder. With the Fiorentina man ready to play the waiting game for them, it remains to be seen if the Red Devils can get that deal to add more depth to their midfield line before the transfer window closes on September 1.
