The 29-year-old has made 154 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side, scoring nine goals and providing 22 assists in all competitions. He spent the second half of last season at Bayern Munich and was hailed as “world-class” by ex-Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann. It now appears that the Portugal international will be spending this season at Barcelona, where he’ll be tasked to provide assists to Robert Lewandowski & co, improving their attacking variety through the wings and helping them compete for honours.
