Liverpool Set to Rope in Skillful ‘Wonderkid’ as Part of Midfield Revolution – Fabrizio Romano

As per Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool are set to make an exciting addition to their team in the form of a prospect in Leicester City midfielder,  Trey Nyoni. The 16-year-old is expected to be slotted into their youth teams and be groomed for the future.

Who Is Nyoni?

The Reds have given opportunities to quite a few midfielders from their academy over the last few years, with Curtis Jones being a prominent youth academy star now considered an important part of their first-team squad.

Romano states that the club are now close to signing another prospect in The Foxes youngster, Nyoni, who was born in 2007. There are no details provided on the possible fee for the acquisition, but he will be considered a coup for the academy.

The Italian journalist also added that the Englishman is set to be part of multiple signings to bolster their future, with the Merseyside club also poised to rope in West Ham United’s young defender Amaro Nallo to strengthen their youth teams.

Liverpool allowed the likes of Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and James Milner to leave as free agents after their contracts expired. But they weren’t done there. Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have also left to join Saudi Arabian clubs, with the English giants roping in World Cup winner Alexis Mac Allister as their major midfield acquisition.

They are reportedly pushing strongly to sign Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia and seem to be strengthening the midfield for the future with the signing of Nyoni. The teenager dubbed a “wonderkid”, made 13 appearances in the U18 Premier League last season, scoring two goals and providing an assist.
