Romano claims that Arsenal have gone quiet with their interest in potentially signing the Belgian midfielder. It is added that this is because of a growing belief that Thomas Partey could now stay at the club beyond the summer window after being linked with a move to Saudi Arabia.

It’s stated that Chelsea are still in the race to sign the Southampton midfielder – but it is Liverpool who are actively working on his signing. The Reds are tipped to make a new £45 million offer for him, with Southampton thought to value the Belgian international at £50 Million.

The North London heavyweights have had a blockbuster summer transfer window so far, spending over £200 million to sign the likes of Rice, Kai Havertz from Chelsea and Dutch defender Jurrien Timber from Ajax. Sky Sports have reported that Arsenal are now focused on selling some unnecessary players to balance their books.

Romano adds that Inter Milan are continuously pushing to sign their striker Folarin Balogun and trying to find an agreement on that. Arsenal are also interested in signing a right-sided forward and might even sign another midfielder. It seems Arsenal are unlikely to make a move for Lavia because of how quickly the Reds are progressing on the deal. They could be missing out on a highly-talented youngster dubbed a ball-winning “phenom for his heroics at Southampton, for whom he made 34 appearances last season and contributed two goals.
