Fabrizio Romano Makes Exciting Tottenham Transfer Claim About What Will Happen ‘In 24h’

Spurs Active in the Transfer Window; Set to Make Another Signing

With Ange Postecoglou taking over at Tottenham’s helm, it is imperative that he has a successful transfer window this summer.

Spurs last season were the epitome of inconsistency, showing some promise under Antonio Conte before his relationship with the club went up in flames in March and he left by mutual consent.

Of the two interim bosses who followed the Italian – Cristian Stellini and then Ryan Mason – neither was able to right the ship, and the North London side ended up with a dismal 8th-placed finish in the Premier League, some 11 points off Champions League qualification and 24 points behind rivals Arsenal.

Now, though, with Postecoglou taking over, there is a new sense of optimism surrounding the club and its project.

So far this summer, Spurs have been very efficient in conducting their transfer business, making the loan moves of Dejan Kulusevski and Pedro Porro permanent while also bringing in James Maddison, Guglielmo Vicario, and Manor Solomon.

All of these signings were not only completed swiftly but also smartly, taking advantage of various situations – like Leicester City’s relegation or Solomon’s availability as a free agent – in making quality acquisitions.

This appears to be what Spurs are doing yet again, with Blackburn Rovers’ financial troubles allowing them to swoop in and steal 18-year-old starlet Ashley Phillips from the Championship side.

Both Romano and The Athletic journalist Charlie Eccleshare report that the youngster will now have his medical within the next 24 hours and that this move, which is worth around £3 million, will not affect the North London club’s plans to sign a first-choice centre-back this summer.
