This will require surgery and could see him miss the entirety of the 2023/24 campaign according to other Chelsea insiders. This news has not gone down well with the fanbase with some, like those mentioned above, wanting the team to cut their losses with the 22-year-old.

The injury leaves the Blues with Thiago Silva, Benoit Badiashile, Levi Colwill, and Trevoh Chalobah as remaining options at the centre-back position. Unless a signing is made between now and the beginning of the regular season, we could see the inexperienced Badisahile of Colwill get the nod to start at the heart of the back line.
