How Liverpool Have Lined-Up Recently
Jurgen Klopp has been helped by the reduction in the injury crisis in his squad, being able to pick his best players again. His ideal defence right now consists of Alisson in goal, with Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson forming a back four that has performed well in recent games.
In midfield, Jordan Henderson and Fabinho have kept their places – with Thiago Alcantara having the chance of making a return after being linked to a shocking move to Turkey a few months ago. Mo Salah and Diogo Jota’s impressive form warrant them more starts, while Luis Diaz – described as ‘exceptional’ by Klopp upon joining Liverpool last year – could start his first game since October 2022.
Liverpool Recent Form and Tactics
The Reds are currently on a four-game unbeaten run in the Premier League, but have only won two of their last five games in all competitions – leaving them quite far behind in the race for a top-four finish and the highly coveted Champions League places.

Klopp has gotten his Liverpool side playing their ‘heavy-metal’ style again and has them flying on all cylinders as the season draws to an end. He’ll have them play to his trusted 4-3-3 formation once again and will prioritize attacking football more than anything. Liverpool’s style under Klopp has been to press the opposition players in their own half, quickly recover possession and mount attacks through the wings.
The Reds love to bomb forward in numbers, using their wing-backs to create a lot of chances and empty up the space for their wingers to move centrally. Their high-octane attacking style has provided Klopp’s side with a lot of joy, something they’ll hope to achieve at West Ham too.
Liverpool Key Players
Salah has maintained impressive form in a topsy-turvy Liverpool season and aims to keep that going against West Ham. He’ll aim to use his impressive dribbling ability, quick movement and excellent finishing skills to torment the Hammers and keep his fine vein of goal-scoring form alive.

Jota is also getting back to his best and coming off a brace in the last game. He’s not only a thorn in the side of the opposition with his off-the-ball movement and link-up play, but has improved his finishing skills to put away chances better. Diaz will look to use his dribbling skills and creativity to set up big chances for his side in this one while Alexander-Arnold and Robertson remain major creative beacons for Liverpool, as they’ll aim to create big chances with their pinpoint crosses.
Liverpool Injuries to Consider
Liverpool will have to make do without Roberto Firmino and Naby Keita who remain out of action due to injury. Liverpool’s midfield ‘breakout star’ Stefan Bajcetic is also injured, as is young defender Calvin Ramsay.
