Analyzing Which Manchester Club Is More Likely to Win the Treble

Manchester Clubs treble

Manchester United and rivals Manchester City have been showing strong performances in this campaign and both are still in the race for multiple trophies. Let’s have a look at where both Manchester clubs currently stand to win an unprecedented treble this season.

Manchester United or Manchester City: Who Is More Likely to Win the Treble?

Where Manchester United Stand Right Now

Manchester United have shown massive improvement this season after the appointment of Dutch coach Erik ten Hag. The Red Devils ended their six-year trophy drought by winning the EFL Cup on February 26, beating Newcastle United 2-0 in the final. Ten Hag’s team have also qualified for the FA Cup quarterfinal after defeating West Ham United 5-1 in the fifth round.

In the Premier League, Manchester United are currently in third place with 49 points. They are 14 points behind first-place Arsenal with a game in hand. United have an outside chance of winning the league, although their recent 7-0 defeat to Liverpool has made that far less likely.

However, the Red Devils also have the potential to win the UEFA Europa League and, having already knocked fellow contenders Barcelona out of the competition, are in a strong position to do so.

Overall, Manchester United are considered one of the favourites to win the Europa League and the FA Cup. They have an outside chance in the Premier League but will have to rely on Arsenal and Manchester City having nightmare ends to the season to achieve success in that regard.

Where Manchester City Stand Right Now

Manchester City have struggled to show their usual dominating performances in the ongoing season. They were knocked out of the EFL Cup after losing 2-0 to Southampton in the quarter-finals and, therefore, have to win their three remaining competitions to achieve the treble.

Pep Guardiola’s team secured a place in the FA Cup quarter-final after defeating Bristol City 3-0 in the fifth round. Whilst, in the Premier League, Manchester City are currently in second place with 58 points. They are very much in the race for the league title with table-topper Arsenal, especially given the fact that they will welcome the Gunners to the Etihad later in the season.
