Tottenham Hotspur are trying to find a solution for the signing of Pedro Porro from Sporting Lisbon, claims Fabrizio Romano.

The Lilywhites are eager to sign the right-back, who is also doing his best to push through the transfer after his club suddenly backed out of a transfer agreement.

Pedro Porro Skips Sporting Lisbon Training to Force Move

Sporting’s decision to change the conditions of the right-back’s transfer has infuriated him, with Pedro Porro refusing to train with his club on Monday – adds Romano. He only wants a move to the North London club and seems to be determined to ensure the deal goes through before transfer deadline on Tuesday, 31 January.

It is also added that a meeting is taking place between Tottenham and Sporting, with representatives of both clubs now trying to find a solution to this situation. Given the player’s unwavering desire to move to Spurs before the window closes, the Portuguese club might be pushed to come to an agreement that benefits all sides and get a deal over the line soon.

The Lilywhites took their time to do some business in the January transfer window, but have been acting quickly to improve Antonio Conte’s side after witnessing a relatively poor start to 2023. Spurs shocked Everton by hijacking the move to sign Arnaut Danjuma from Villarreal, strengthening their attack even more.

It was reported earlier this month that they were eyeing three potential signings in January, with Pedro Porro possibly being their second.

The Spaniard has scored three goals and registered 11 assists for his side this season, catching Conte’s eyes with his impressive work rate and efficiency. He can operate both as a winger and wing-back, making him ideal for his three-at-the-back formation.

While Porro continues to push for a move to North London, it remains to be seen if the Lilywhites can get this deal over the line before the transfer window closes.
