Lioness Beth England Makes Shock Move to Chelsea Rivals

Lioness Beth England Signs For Tottenham Hotspur Women

Tottenham Hotspur manager Rehanne Skinner has been a frustrated figure in recent weeks. The latest news surrounding her team will surely be worth a smile though. Beth England, a highly decorated and talented forward, has made the move across London from Chelsea.

All About the Player

Everything about this transfer is record-breaking and that has been a theme in the career of Lioness Beth England. She has won pretty much all there is to win alongside this excellent Chelsea team. The one trophy that has of course evaded them to date is the Champions League, no thanks to Barcelona’s brilliance.

Last season, under the stewardship of Emma Hayes, England and co won both the WSL title and also the FA Cup, overcoming a strong challenge from both Arsenal and Manchester City. Talking of her manager with the Blues, and Hayes gave the departing star a glowing report. “Beth leaves a winner and a Chelsea legend. We wish her the very best.”

Not only has Beth England delivered on the domestic front, but she was also a part of Sarina Wiegman’s heroic summer squad. Only a select bunch of Brits can say that they have a major trophy to their name in the world of football. The 28-year-old has 11 goals for her country in 21 appearances.

Continuing on the front of silverware and the former Liverpool loanee has a few individual awards to her name. The likes of Sam Kerr and Pernille Harder may have superseded her but Lioness Beth England was a dominant force not to long ago. In 2020, she was named the WSL Player of the Year and PFA Women’s Players’ Player of the Year.

Where will Lioness Beth England Fit in at Spurs

Chelsea’s loss is Tottenham’s gain and England is sure to get the playing time she deserves with the latter. Last term in the WSL, she scored eight in 20 which becomes all the more impressive since only a handful of those appearances were starts.

It is no surprise to see Chelsea leading the way currently but Spurs are wallowing down in eighth, having lost their last four games. Skinner’s side have managed just 11 goals in nine fixtures and so the arrival of Lioness Beth England is huge in that regard.

Tottenham’s most recent WSL game, in which they lost 3-0 at home to a strong Everton side, saw them play with a solo striker. The player in question was Nikola Karczewska, who has three goals so far. That tally is bettered by only Ashleigh Neville and the fullback-turned-winger saw red against the Toffees.

England could well replace the young Pole directly, or even play alongside her. There are handy attacking players in the Spurs’ ranks, the aforementioned duo as well as Drew Spence and Jess Naz. If this cohort can provide the chances for the new arrival, then they could certainly enjoy an upturn in results.
