Arsenal & More Clubs Interested in World Cup Winner Mac Allister

The Brighton midfielder had a dream World Cup campaign with Argentina and was able to prove just how good he is for his national team. He featured in six of their games and had two goal involvements, which included an assist in the World Cup Final against France.

AS claims that Arsenal face competition from rivals Tottenham Hotspur and La Liga side Atletico Madrid in their pursuit of potentially signing Mac Allister. He was reportedly attracting attention from Spurs even before his heroics at the World Cup, with his impressive performances for Brighton catching the eye of multiple sides.

The 23-year-old was initially supposed to be a squad player for Argentina in the competition, but his impressive performances and consistency compelled manager Lionel Scaloni to keep on playing him as the tournament progressed. He’s now on the radar of the Gunners, who are looking at potential January signings to improve their squad next year.

Mac Allister’s Rise to World Cup Success

Mac Allister was signed by Brighton in 2019. He took some time to properly adapt to his new surroundings in the Premier League before finding his best form for the Seagulls.

Mac Allister has been a really solid figure in Brighton’s midfield over the last few seasons and has enjoyed a prolific campaign with them so far in this one. He has scored five goals in 14 appearances in the Premier League this season, which probably compelled Scaloni to play him so much at the World Cup.

The 23-year-old did not disappoint for his country and put in some hard-working shifts, as well as adding a creative touch in midfield. His impressive performances have definitely raised his stock and earned him praise, including some from Brighton’s CEO Paul Barber, who termed him as a ‘humble’ player after the win. The Seagulls will find it tough to keep hold of him in the long-term, even though Mac Allister’s contract doesn’t run out until 2025.
