Tottenham Hotspur Injury News: Richarlison and Son To Make World Cup

Positive News All-Round for Spurs Injured Stars

According to the latest from Alasdair Gold, Richarlison has only taken part in two training sessions so far since a lengthy break due to his calf injury. He is only expected to play a substitute role against Nottingham Forest. Nevertheless, Richarlison has been called up to the Brazil squad for the World Cup in Qatar. The Brazilian was devastated at the time of his injury, worried that it was a reoccurrence of a much more significant former injury. Thankfully Richarlison should at least be able to travel with the Brazil squad at the World Cup.

Before he goes, he may even get a run out against Forest, or possibly against Leeds United at the weekend.

Fellow forward Son Heung-Min could also be fit in time for the World Cup. He suffered a fracture around his left eye against Marseille. There were big fears that he could miss the World Cup. But the South Korean star took to Instagram today to give a hopeful message.

He said: “Hi everyone. I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you all for the messages of support I have received over the last week. I have read so many of them and truly, truly appreciate you all.

“In a tough time I received a lot of strength from you!

“Playing for your country at the World Cup is the dream of so many children growing up, just as it was one of mine too.

“I won’t miss this for the world. I can’t wait to represent our beautiful country, see you soon. Sonny🇰🇷❤️”

The Power of Son Heung-Min

It is a testament to Son’s determination that he is able to recover from his injury so quickly. He is truly a talisman for his country and for Tottenham. He has previously shaken off injuries quickly or even played through the pain. While having a big international break over the winter may seem detrimental to the Premier League season, it will surely only light a bigger flame in the hearts of players like Son. It will be positive news indeed for all fans, South Korea and Tottenham alike to see this expert striker back in action.
