‘Aircraft on Standby’ as Striker Debates Leeds United Move in an Airport Terminal

Bid has been accepted for promising striker Bamba Dieng

Bamba Dieng’s move to Leeds United is in disarray, with an aircraft on standby awaiting his final decision on completing a move to the Yorkshire club. According to David Ornstein, the Young Senegalese forward is stuck deciding between remaining in France with a move to OGN Nice or securing a move to the Premier League.

Why Are Leeds United After Dieng?

The Yorkshire club is pursuing Marseille’s cult hero as he has the perfect profile for playing under Jesse Marsch. At 22, the forward has plenty of potential for growth and has already scored seven senior league goals. His performances in the Europa League were also impressive, and the youngster already has an Africa Cup of Nations winner’s medal.

Leeds United have a relative lack of depth up front, with few senior options and even fewer with good records of fitness. Bamba Dieng could expect plenty of minutes as a result of moving to the Whites.

Cody Gakpo Comparisons

This move immediately brings comparisons with the Elland Road hierarchy’s move for Cody Gakpo earlier on deadline day. With a full agreement in place between the Dutchman and the club, PSV Eindhoven made a late decision to retain the player. Victor Orta returned to the UK without a player, and the fear is that it could happen again.

What Will a Deal Look Like?

In the event that Leeds United complete a deal, a personal agreement would be relatively simple. The player initially had a four-year agreement in place with the Peacocks before OGN Nice entered the fray with a bid of their own.

Dealing with Marseille is also not an issue. With just one year on his contract, Leeds’ Director of Football negotiated a deal with Marseille. The only issue currently preventing the move is Bamba Dieng’s flight of choice. Leeds Bradford Airport beckons, but this may not have a Nice ending for fans of the Yorkshire club.
