James Milner Benched: Liverpool Lineup Prediction vs Bournemouth

James Milner

Liverpool host Bournemouth at Anfield in their fourth Premier League game of the season at Anfield on August 27, 2022. The Reds are desperately looking for their first win of the new campaign, days after losing to arch-rivals Manchester United at Old Trafford.

How Liverpool Have Lined-Up Recently

Liverpool’s Recent Form and Tactics

Jurgen Klopp’s side has had a poor start to the 2022/23 Premier League and are without a win in their first three games. The Reds have drawn two games and lost another, which sees them sitting in 16th place in the league table. They have looked sloppy in games and are yet to play with the high energy levels that helped them win two trophies last season.

Liverpool have retained their 4-3-3 formation that has been a staple under the German boss. But without talisman Sadio Mane, things haven’t been so smooth in attack and many players have underperformed. New signing Darwin Nunez is yet to properly adapt to the new environment and did himself no favours by getting sent off in the 1-1 draw against Crystal Palace.

Liverpool Injuries to Consider

The Reds are struggling with injury issues early into the new campaign. Diogo Jota is yet to even make a single appearance this season as he recovers from a thigh injury. Thiago Alcantara is also out after sustaining a thigh injury in the 2-2 draw against Fulham in the opening matchday.

Joel Matip, Ibrahima Konate, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Curtis Jones are also struggling with injuries and are unavailable for the Bournemouth game. The Reds are suffering a shortage in midfield options, which wasn’t done any favours when Naby Keita suffered an injury just before their loss to United.
