‘I Do Not Think There Is a Way Back’: Manchester United Set to Land Incredible Fourth Summer Signing

Casemiro Carlo Ancelotti

Manchester United are now set to land Casemiro of Real Madrid after Carlo Ancelotti spoke out on the deal in a recent interview.

This would be United’s fourth summer addition after signing Christian Eriksen, Tyrell Malacia, and Lisandro Martinez, and would be the biggest of the lot, representing the much-needed acquisition of a defensive midfielder at Old Trafford. This move is also something of a coup for the Red Devils, signing a world-class star who is one of the best in the game in his position despite their woeful start to the campaign.

‘I Do Not Think There Is a Way Back’: Carlo Ancelotti Reveals Manchester United Are Destined to Sign Casemiro

What Ancelotti Said

With Casemiro no longer a nailed on first-team regular since the additions of Aurelien Tchouameni this summer and Eduardo Camavinga last year, the South American has chosen to move on to pastures new, with the Theatre of Dreams certainly a place where he can expect regular minutes.

In his interview, Ancelotti said: “We’ve spoken this morning. He wants to try a new challenge, a new opportunity. I understand this, and also the club does.”

He went on to discuss how the Brazilian is a club legend in the Spanish capital: “Because of what he’s done for this club, and for this team, we need to be respectful of this. There are negotiations between the clubs. He is still a Real Madrid player, but it looks like now he is willing to depart.”

The question of whether he would attempt to convince Casemiro to stay was then posed to Ancelotti, and he replied: “No, I’ve always talked a lot with him in my second stage at Real Madrid, I just listened to his desire. I think there is no turning back. This is what he wants and if the negotiations go well, we just need to wish him the very best.”
