Tottenham Hotspur Starting Lineup Prediction vs Chelsea

Tottenham Hotspur Starting Lineup Prediction

How Tottenham Hotspur Have Lined Up Recently

In the first match of the season, Spurs’ lineup was relatively predictable. A front three of Harry Kane, Son Heung-Min and Dejan Kulusevski played an integral role in penetrating Southampton‘s defence, with Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and new signing Rodrigo Bentancur offering stability in the middle. Ryan Sessegnon and Emerson took up roles on the wings, with Cristian Romero, Eric Dier and Ben Davies the final line of defence in front of Hugo Lloris.

This lineup was standard fare for an Antonio Conte team. A stable back line, a double pivot and a dangerous front three are the most common combination for the Italian, appearing as a 3-4-3 formation on the pitch. After a demolition job against the Saints, there’s no reason for Spurs to divert from this plan.

Tottenham Hotspur Injuries To Consider

Spurs only have one injury at the moment. Oliver Skipp is out for the next few weeks, suffering from a fracture in his foot. The Italian manager doesn’t want to risk Skipp, so you shouldn’t expect to see the young midfielder at Stamford Bridge.

Aside from Skipp, Tottenham Hotspur have no injuries to speak of. In spite of Antonio Conte’s incredibly intense training routines, the players are holding up well and there are no signs of strain or injuries as of yet.

Predicted Tottenham Hotspur Starting 11

There is little reason for The Lilywhites to make any changes to the team that starts against Chelsea. Lloris retaining his place in net behind Romero, Dier and Davies is expected, and Ryan Sessegnon did enough at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium against Southampton to retain his position in the side over Ivan Perisic.

Emerson also retains his position after contributing to a dominant performance. Hojbjerg and Bentancur had an excellent performance, making Yves Bissouma wait a little while longer for his first start. The front three of Kulusevski, Kane and Son goes unchanged, with Richarlison unable to dislodge any of the aforementioned forwards after an excellent first match.

Current Odds: Chelsea vs Tottenham Hotspur

Current odds have Chelsea as favourites, with odds of 5/4. A Spurs win is the next most likely outcome at 21/10 with a draw as the least likely result at 12/5.
