Leicester City Duo ‘Not for Sale’ This Summer

It is heavily trodden ground that Leicester City are the only side yet to make a signing in the Premier League thus far. The summer window has them plagued with negativity at the time of writing. Players have to be sold if Brendan Rodgers is to make any signings. The manager has sent out a warning, saying that a certain Leicester City duo won’t be going anywhere, as per Fabrizio Romano.

Leicester City Duo Won’t Be Sold Despite Significant Interest

Leicester City duo Wesley Fofana and James Maddison are at the heart of a lot of the rumours. Kasper Schmeichel has joined Nice whilst this double act could fetch quite a handsome fee. Not if Brendan Rodgers has anything to do with it though.

“Wesley Fofana and James Maddison are not for sale. These are very important players to us,” he said, as per Romano.

The Northern Irishman then went on to say the following. “We’re in a situation where we need to move some players out but that doesn’t mean getting rid of anyone, our best assets.”

Maddison and Fofana have been the subject of huge interest. Starting first with the England hopeful for this summer in Qatar and Newcastle United are at the heart of it all. Arsenal have been rumoured whilst the Magpies’ interest is more concrete.

Meanwhile, the other part of the Leicester City duo is young Frenchman Fofana, but he hasn’t played all that much for the Foxes. Despite that, he still has mouth-watering fees being banded about. He suffered a horrible injury against Villarreal in the last pre-season and so regular minutes are needed for him at the King Power. He could see his price skyrocket even further if he can play a major role in a tough Leicester season.

Who Could Depart the King Power?

The problems are endless for Rodgers and co whether it be with injuries or potential departures. Youri Tielemans has been angling for a move for a while now and so the Belgian could be one of those to move on. Brendan Rodgers said that “We’re in a situation where we need to move some players out”. Money is needed for any potential incomings.

This Leicester City duo are attracting a lot of interest but their manager has other plans. They “are not for sale.”
