According to Lyall Thomas of Sky Sports, Leicester City will not stand in the way of Wesley Fofana if an acceptable offer comes from a Champions League club, with Chelsea heavily linked with a move for the French U21 international. Despite the Foxes deciding they will not stop their star centre-back from leaving, they will only consider selling if a sizeable bid is received. Reports suggest the Stamford Bridge club could sign the Frenchman for £85 million.

French Defender to Bolster Blues
Chelsea have endured a frustrating summer despite the signings of Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly. The Kings Road club have identified central defence as a must-strengthen area which has led to the side being linked with a move for Leicester City centre-back Fofana.
He has excelled in his time with the Foxes, becoming a mainstay of their backline and one of the most consistent defenders in the Premier League. Brendan Rodgers was full of praise for his rock at the back, describing him as “unbelievable“ following a towering performance against PSV Eindhoven in the Europa Conference League.

After spending much of last season out injured, Fofana has found himself at the top of Chelsea’s summer shopping list following the departures of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger from Stamford Bridge. The French defender signed a new five-year contract with the Foxes in March, ensuring they will demand a sizeable fee before they sell him.
What Fofana Could Bring to Stamford Bridge
Fofana excels in one on one situations, where he is great at anticipating what the attacker will do next. He has shown on various occasions during his time at the King Power Stadium that he has impressive recovery skills, and these have saved the Foxes many times.
He also has an impeccable ability to time his tackles, which again highlights how good he is at reading the game, and is a vital weapon when defending and attacking set pieces.
