Ben Mee and Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Strakosha have arrived on free transfers. Highly sought-after Scottish fullback Aaron Hickey and highly-rated Hull man Keane Lewis-Potter have been signed for in excess of a combined £30 million. As is the case with Strakosha and Hickey, Danish youngster Damsgaard would be joining from the Serie A.

It is said that the 22-year-old could replace his fellow countryman Eriksen at the Brentford Community Stadium. Weirdly enough, it was Damsgaard that came to the fore following that horrific incident involving the new Manchester United man at the Euros. Along with the Dane, he could compliment the likes of Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo and new signing Lewis-Potter very well in the final third.

A Bit About the Danish Youngster

Damsgaard currently plays his football for Sampdoria who have flattered to deceive in recent seasons. They were previously a mainstay in the top half but whilst the likes of Empoli and Hellas Verona are on their way up, Samp finished fifteenth last term.

During Euro 2020, The Danish youngster fired home a thunderous free-kick from distance, beating Jordan Pickford in the semi-final. His side may have come up short at the end of that game, after extra-time, but it was still a magical tournament, whether it be for their football or Eriksen’s recovery.

It remains to be seen exactly how much Damsgaard’s services will cost but it could be as high as £25 million if the Italian side get what they want. The Danish youngster is a very tricky customer but is coming off of a tough season, this move would be hugely intriguing either way.
