Chelsea Attacker ‘Happy to Join’ as AC Milan Open Talks

A new report from Fabrizio Romano has sparked up a link between Chelsea attacker Hakim Ziyech and AC Milan. The Italian club have reportedly opened talks with the player’s agent already.

Romano’s latest report states: “Hakim Ziyech’s agents have already had direct talks with AC Milan board. Ziyech would be happy to join Milan – been told Chelsea and Tuchel are open to let him go if right conditions are guaranteed…Ziyech’s on AC Milan list since long time – talks will continue soon.”

Long Time Admirers

The Serie A winners have reportedly listed the Morocco international as a target for some time now. Ziyech first attracted interest for his performances in the Dutch leagues where he impressed for FC Twente before Ajax picked him up in 2016. In four seasons with Ajax, the 29-year-old scored an impressive 49 goals in 165 appearances.

This attracted interest from European giants Chelsea, who signed Ziyech in 2020 for a fee reported to be in the region of €40 million. Now operating mainly as a wide-man, the former Ajax player has found it difficult to perform at the highest level in a blue shirt, although he has provided a lot of energy every time he steps on the field.

Change at Chelsea

With the new ownership promising Thomas Tuchel six new signings and a massive transfer budget, it is clear that the team will be re-shaped in this off-season. With the club eyeing up players like Raheem Sterling, Richarlison, Ousmane Dembele, and others, there will be tough decisions made on who can stay and who has to go in order to balance the books.

Whilst most Chelsea fans agree Ziyech has performed well on the pitch, he may be a necessary departure if the club is to fund some of their bigger signings in order to provide their German boss with all the tools he needs for success.
