Kylian Mbappe is by far one of the most wanted players in world football. The Frenchman has been at Paris Saint-Germain since 2017 and has already made himself a club icon. However, with only a few months left on his contract, Mbappe will have to make a decision on where he wants to play next season. Despite such little time left on his contract, the PSG striker insists he still has not decided on his future.
Kylian Mbappe Yet to Decide Future
How Big of a Loss Will Mbappe Be?
It is fair to say that PSG have had a lacklustre campaign so far. After a massive transfer window bringing in players such as Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos to name a few, fans would have expected better from the French giants. PSG were knocked out of the Champions League very early on by Real Madrid. They also lost to Nice on penalties in the French Cup which sent them crashing out in the last 16.
Kylian Mbappe bagged a brace in his last game for PSG against Lorient. Neymar and Messi were also on the scoresheet for their 5-1 win. It is understood that the PSG backroom see Mbappe’s contract renewal as a priority and are willing to be more flexible with the forward. One way they are planning to do this is offering him a short-term contract to allow the club more time to negotiate without lowering his value.
Forward Speaks on Future
When asked about his future after PSG’s recent win, the Frenchman explained that although he hasn’t made a decision, “there are new elements” for him to consider:
“If I had to make a decision I would have said it, I would have fronted up. I always front up. I don’t have to hide. I want to make the best possible decision. But it’s not an easy decision.”
He later added: “Is it possible to stay at PSG? Yes, of course.”
Real Madrid are the favourites to sign Mbappe should he leave the French club this summer. Other clubs in England are also amongst those interested in the Frenchman’s services. Nonetheless, a highly important summer awaits Kylian Mbappe as he will have to make a massive decision on his future.
