The English full-back joined the Foxes in 2019 and has excelled at the club despite injury problems.

James Justin Signs Extension: From Luton to Leicester

Justin was born in Bedfordshire and made his senior debut for his local club Luton Town in 2015. He played a major role in Luton’s consecutive promotions from League Two to the Championship.

He made 114 appearances for the Hatters, scoring six times and managing 13 assists.

Leicester signed Justin in the summer of 2019 for around £6 million. Since joining he has become a fan favourite. He has shown great versatility, playing both left and right-back during his time with the foxes.

Since moving to the 2015/16 Premier League Champions, he has played 54 times for the club and won the FA Cup.

Injury Setbacks

Unfortunately for Justin, he has had major injury problems since joining Brendan Rodgers‘ side. He suffered an ACL injury against Brighton & Hove Albion last year which left him sidelined for 11 months.

Justin has since returned to the first team and featured in games against Tottenham Hotspur, Brighton, Liverpool, West Ham United and Nottingham Forest.

The full-back is positive about his return, speaking to LCFC TV he said: “I just want to cement my place in the team. It’s been a year of ups and downs. It went from starting the year in great form and then picking up the injury to knowing I was going to be out for a sustained period of time.

“When you’re getting right to the end, with just a couple of minor setbacks with this, that and the other, it all boils up. I’m just glad I had everyone around me telling me the right things just to get me back.

“There’s no good time to get an injury like that, but at least now, people know what I can do. Hopefully I can get back to that level. I definitely do feel back to my best, but to be honest, I can’t remember what I used to be like.

“This is me now, so I’ve just got to keep improving and hopefully kick on in every way.”

Finishing the Season Strong

Justin and Leicester will look to end the season strong after a series of disappointing results this season.

Brendan Rodgers’ side currently sit 11th in the Premier League and will look to push up the table as we enter the end-of-season run-in.

Leicester will also look to have a deep run in the Europa Conference League. The Foxes currently lead Danish side Randers 4-1 on aggregate as they prepare to travel to Denmark for the second leg on Thursday.

With Justin returning at the perfect time for Leicester, he will hope he has a say on how successful the Foxes can be this season.
