As per Jonathan Shrager, Manchester United, Liverpool, Borussia Dortmund, and Bayern Munich have all enquired about signing soon-to-be out of contract Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Denis Zakaria this January. The deal is an increasingly likely one, given the situation. Gladbach could be keen to receive a fee for the midfielder, rather than letting him leave for free come next summer. Meanwhile, the midfielder, himself, is spoilt for choice when it comes to his next move.

Assessing the Options
Denis Zakaria’s next move may just be the most important one of his career. He wanted to step away from the comforts of Gladbach – where he has risen to stardom. And, now, he has the ultimate chance to do so.
As per Shrager, the options currently on the table are Bayern Munich, Manchester United, Borussia Dortmund, and Liverpool. With four such tempting options in their own right, choosing will be difficult. And that’s even if Gladbach allow Zakaria to leave this month. Either way, it’s best to assess the options.
Starting with Liverpool – a side that could do with a reliable midfielder – Zakaria has the chance to join up with a side in the hunt for trophies, but, therefore, a side with plenty of competition. He’ll be competing with the likes of Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara, and Jordan Henderson, among others.
Then there’s Manchester United, who arguably need an player like Zakaria more than he needs them. He has the chance to help turn a sinking ship around and become part of what could become a promising project.
Or, it could be Germany that awaits. Both Dortmund and Bayern present lucrative destinations. But only one is full of trophies – potentially presenting Zakaria with a difficult choice when or, if, it comes down to it this month.
