Zlatan Ibrahimovic Hopes for AC Milan Stay

Zlatan Ibrahimovic

The contract of Zlatan Ibrahimovic with AC Milan is due to expire in the summer. In typical fashion, the Swedish striker isn’t too rattled by this as evidenced by recent comments made on Che Tempo Che Fa.

Happy to Stay with AC Milan

What Zlatan Ibrahimovic Said

In quotes cited by Fabrizio Romano, the Swedish forward said: “No, I feel as if my contract never expires! Let’s put some pressure on the AC Milan board for the renewal” He followed up with a message that AC Milan fans will surely be happy to hear “I Hope to stay and play for Milan forever.”

A Successful Second Stint

The legendary forward is currently enjoying a second stint at AC Milan having joined from MLS side LA Galaxy in December of 2019, where he had an impressive 31 goals in 31 games in his final season. Ibrahimovic has continued to show his quality since then grabbing ten goals in 18 Serie A appearances in the 6 months after rejoining Milan, even netting in his first start back with the club. He followed that up with even more goals in his second year with AC Milan as he scored 15 goals in 19 games for the club last season to earn a contract extension. Despite turning 40, Zlatan Ibrahimovic is still a useful asset to AC Milan this season as he already has six goals to his name in nine Serie A appearances this season. While his scoring rate hasn’t carried over to European competition just yet he is still a feared striker who will score goals throughout the season.

Given his goalscoring output, AC Milan fans will be hoping that the club can get a deal done to extend the stay of the well-travelled veteran who is still scoring goals at a ridiculous rate and playing a crucial part in Milan’s title chase this year with the team currently sitting at the top of the league.
