Nathaniel Chalobah and Domingos Quina Watford Futures Coming Down to the Wire

With the transfer window closing Tuesday evening, there is not much time left for players on the outside looking in to make their ideal moves to return to consistent first-team action. Upon promotion, Watford signed a double-digit number of players, meaning many players who played a key role in their promotion are now surplus to requirements. Domingos Quina and Nathaniel Chalobah are two players who will be wanting a move away from Vicarage Road as soon as possible.

Nathaniel Chalobah and Domingos Quina Could Move Away From Watford

Nathaniel Chalobah to Leave if Right Offer Arrives

According to Adam Leventhal of The Athletic, the former Chelsea midfielder will be allowed to leave the club if an offer for his services comes in. His contract situation is very similar to that of Will Hughes who recently departed to Crystal Palace.

However, the 26-year-old does not have any clubs known to be seriously interested in him, meaning a departure for him is not necessarily in the cards. Whether or not he would make the 25-man squad at Vicarage Road if no move arrives remains to be seen. He will be able to negotiate in January with other clubs to depart in a free transfer for once the season concludes.

Domingos Quina Subject to Interest

The same report claims the 21-year-old has interest from Bournemouth and is likely to push for a move away considering his omission from all match-day squads this season.

The attacking midfielder joined Watford from West Ham United in 2018. Expectations for him were high following his success when making cameos in his first campaign with the Hornets. His long-shot abilities make him an especially exciting player to watch.

Both midfielders may not depart after all. Both may be included in the 25-man squad, but both could also be forced to train with the U23s as well depending on what other arrivals call for. The situation is unfortunate for these two midfielders, but sometimes, football is just unfair.
