Prolific Greek Striker

Giakoumakis is highly-rated, and could be an exciting prospect at Parkhead.

Despite suffering relegation with VVV-Venlo last season, the 26-year-old scored 29 times in all competitions. He was the top scorer in the Dutch top-flight last season with 26 goals in 30 appearances.

The Greek strikers arrival will help supplement their attack. Odsonne Edouard is currently the first-choice striker under Ange Postecoglou at Parkhead, but could still leave before the end of the transfer window.

Giakoumakis has commanded interest from several other clubs, but has opted for a move to Scotland.

Jota to Join on Loan

The Scottish side are also nearing a loan move for Portuguese midfielder Filipe Jota.

Jota, also 22, will add more attacking threat to the Celtic midfield, who were narrowly beating by arch rivals Rangers on Sunday.

The Portuguese midfielder spent last season on loan in La Liga with Real Valladolid. However, it did not prove to be fruitful; he scored just two goals in 18 appearances.

Celtic do have an option to buy Jota, should his loan spell be successful.

Odsonne Edouard Could Still Depart

Despite the incomings, French striker Edouard could still depart the club.

The 23-year-old has been the subject of interest from several clubs, including Crystal Palace, throughout this window, and is likely to leave the club before the window closes.

Edouard, who has one-year left on his current contract, has scored two goals in 10 appearances so far this season. He enjoyed a may more prolific spell last season, scoring 22 goals in all competitions.

As a result, the Scottish side have looked to find a replacement during this window.
