Arnaut Danjuma Agrees Villarreal Move

Arnaut Danjuma

According to Fabrizio Romano, Bournemouth winger Arnaut Danjuma has completed a move to La Liga side Villarreal for a fee of £20 million, signing a deal until 2026. The deal comes as no surprise considering Bournemouth’s failure to gain promotion from the Championship last season. When failing to gain a place in the Premier League, a club should always expect star players to depart.

The Cherries must now move on and aim for promotion at the second time of asking with plenty of competition in their way. Under Scott Parker, however, they have a greater chance than last time out. Parker brings with him the crucial promotion experience needed to guide them back to the promised land.

Arnaut Danjuma Agree Villarreal Move

Champions League Football Likely a Key Factor

A player of Danjuma’s calibre deserves to be playing amongst Europe’s top leagues. At the very least, he would have been hoping for a move to the equivalent of a mid-table side Premier League side, or, indeed, the Premier League itself. So, when Villarreal came calling fresh off the back of a Europa League win over Manchester United to book their place in the Champions League, it was understandably an offer the winger could not turn down.

Villarreal have got themselves a play that ticks many boxes. He knows how to find the net, scoring 17 goals last season, is entering his prime and is a bargain at £20 million. In La Liga, he’ll only improve, too, potentially resulting in an unexpected meteoric rise.

As for Bournemouth, with £20 million coming their way, they’ll be content with the deal. They still have plenty of firepower within their ranks, from goalscorer Dominic Solanke to the always impressive David Brooks. The latter, especially, if he can stay fit, will be crucial for the Cherries this season.
