Sheffield Wednesday Want Return to Championship

Wednesday suffered relegation down to League One at the end of the 2020/21 season, helped in no small part by a points deduction. However, the club are determined to make their stay in the third tier a short one and are looking to recruit the right calibre of players to fire them back into the Championship.

The latest player to join them is youngster Corbeanu, who has not only impressed many at his current club, Wolverhampton Wanderers, but also features for his national side of Canada already, despite being just 19-years-old.

In fact, he is so highly regarded at Molineux that he has already made his debut for Wolves, although he was limited to just nine minutes in that game.

Impressive for Wolves Reserve Side

However, the winger has impressed regularly for the club’s reserve side, bagging six goal contributions in just 20 starts as an 18-year old. The player also offers a level of versatility, as he can play in a more central role up front as well as out wide.

Corbeanu is unlikely to break into the first-team picture in the Premier League just yet, thanks to the amount of talent that Wolves have at their disposal. Therefore, a loan move could benefit all parties and the Owls will be hoping to secure their man soon.

Winger Would Relish More Gametime

The player himself could use more regular game time to continue to improve his game and potentially allow himself to play at a higher, more competitive level more regularly. Wolves themselves will be happy to let one of their promising prospects challenge himself more and Sheffield Wednesday will be happy to boost their side with the addition of a young winger who will have a point to prove given his first proper crack at competitive football.
